Measuring a TV screen is a quick and easy task that takes only a few minutes. Knowing the size is useful for determining whether a new TV will be able to handle your favorite movies and sports events to the best of its ability.
How to measure TV Size?
If you measure the TV as its whole, you’ll be able to determine whether the entire device will fit in a given place in your home, as well as when you’re considering building something to house or cover the TV. Both alternatives are available in this article.
Measuring the TV Screen
To measure the TV Screen, follow these below steps:
Step 1: In the lower left-hand corner of the TV screen, place the tape measure or measuring stick.
Step 2: Start measuring from where the actual screen begins, not from the TV’s plastic frame (known as the bevel).
Step 3: Extend your tape measure or measuring stick all the way to the upper right corner of the television screen (diagonally from where you started).
Step 4: Take note of the distance between these two points. This is the size of the screen.
Measuring the Full TV
You need to follow these below steps to measure the entire TV:
Step 1: In the lowest left-hand corner of the TV’s edge, place the tape measure or measuring stick. This time, make sure to begin measuring where the TV’s actual edge begins, which includes the TV’s plastic frame (known as the bevel).
Step 2: Extend your tape measure or measuring stick straight across the base of the TV from the lower right-hand corner.
Step 3: Take note of the distance between these two points. Repeat from the bottom to the top corners of the television. Both measurements together give you the overall width and length of the TV, which you may use to determine whether or not the full TV will fit in a place or to design a cover or container for it.
